Technological process
Plasma cutting of metal represents the thermal process providing the high speed of processing of metals. Plasma represents the air heated by an electric arch to high temperature in the ionized state. It means that it loses properties of dielectric and can carry out electric current.
Conditionally process can be explained so: the arc category which is formed between an electrode and a nozzle in a plasmatron or an electrode of a plasmatron and the cut metal will be transformed by air or inert gas to a high-temperature plasma stream which melts metal.
The melted liquid metal is blown from a cut zone by air or a high-speed stream of plasma-forming gas. For receiving an equal cut oxygen or air is used, during the work with metals of big thickness argon or hydrogen is more often applied.
